The Galaxy Note 7 succeeds the last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Thus, Samsung has jumped from Note 5 to Note 7, skipping the series sequence of number 6. This, the company says is to keep the latest Galaxy phablet flagship model’s name in equivalence to the company’s two other premium smartphones namely – the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7, so that the new Note 7 does not sound as an inferior or older model to the customers.

The device gets powered by a superior Exynos Octa core processor that is supported by an impressive 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard memory space.
The Galaxy Note 7 comes with a Dual Pixel 12 MP primary rear camera with OIS F1.7 with LED flash and tons of features, and a 5 MP front facing selfie shooter with F1.7. The smartphone draws its juice from a 3,500 mAh battery along with fast charging technology and supports wireless charging. The new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 offers a new updated S Pen which can be used on the device without unlocking it. The screen off memo operates by pinning the memo to the smartphone’s ‘Always On Display’. Some new Air Command functions have also been added such as the Magnify and Translate feature which zooms in or translate languages with a simple hover in the air with the S Pen.

The smartphone also gets a fingerprint scanner, but Samsung says that the new Iris scanner is better than any fingerprint sensor on Android smartphone models. The iris recognition technology is used during authenticating purchases.
Water & Dust Resistant
Like the other new flagship models of Samsung, the Galaxy Note 7 is both IP68 dust and water proof. Samsung claims that the smartphone can remain unharmed when submerged under up to 5 feet of water for 30 minutes. As mentioned above, the water proofing has been now extended to new S Pen stylus as well.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s security aspect is enhanced with the Secure Folder feature. The secure folder adds to the smartphone’s security ability by keeping the user’s private as well as personal information protected. The Secure Folder can be used to store important personal documents such as passport copy, other id proofs, contracts, etc.
The documents can be kept locked utilizing the Iris scanner technology and are doubly protected by the fingerprint sensor’s security.
Samsung Gear VR
Samsung is separately selling a Gear VR that is empowered by Oculus. As per Samsung, the new Galaxy Note 7’s stunning Super AMOLED screen and commanding processor offers super immersive experience.
